About

The first musical I ever performed in was Les Miserables. I was recruited by my next door neighbor Abby, who was playing Fantine at our local high school, to audition for Young Cosette. Music had always been a huge part of my childhood, my parents both grew up in musical households and passed that appreciation to me, but the piano lessons that I was taking at the time weren't super inspiring to my elementary aged self. In preparation for my audition, my piano teacher let me practice my singing instead of playing. I got the role, and with it, an unforgettable and transformative experience. Music drew me to theatre, and being in this show was the lightbulb moment for me, as my lukewarm feelings towards the piano developed into a great love of storytelling. The piano and I have since reconnected, and I credit it with being my gateway to the wonderful world of musical theatre in which I now reside. I even found my way back to the beautiful and not at all appropriate for a second grader story of Les Miserables, this time as a junior in high school, the same age that Abby was when she changed my life.

I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a BFA in Musical Theatre and as Valedictorian of the Class of 2024. Living in New York City was always a dream of mine, ever since I was a kid, and my family would journey up twice a year to visit my grandma in Brooklyn. I've continued to nurture my passion for musical theatre and explored even more avenues of creative expression. The flute that I picked up in middle school made the move with me, much to my neighborhood's chagrin. I've kept up dance classes in jazz, ballet, and tap, which I grew interested in during the Dance Moms craze of the 2010s. My foodie self goes wild for the variety and diversity of choices here, and I am frequently caught between trying a new restaurant or experimenting at home. My ultimate love, however, is still acting, and attending a liberals arts college helped me pinpoint why theatre means so much to me. I want to tell stories that challenge, engage, and connect people. My participation in the arts is at least partially self-indulgent; it really does feel good to have your voice heard, but I aim to do more with my platform and lift up other voices along with my own. We can achieve so much when we work together.
